Pistachio Trade – Pistachio Import Rules

The quality of Iranian pistachios is very high, which is why the demand for Iranian pistachios is so high. At present, Iranian pistachios are exported to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Germany, UAE, India, Iraq and dozens of other countries. To be successful in the pistachio trade, you must first identify the target market so that you can import different types of pistachios according to the needs of your country.

How to import pistachios (destination standard review)

To start the process of importing pistachios, the needs of customers must be considered, which may vary depending on the destination country, the type of quality of the desired pistachio. Usually European countries are strict in this matter and the best quality pistachios are exported to these countries. In contrast, less developed and middle-income countries tend to buy pistachios of medium quality.

Therefore, you must first determine and check your country and choose the type and quality of pistachios according to market needs. Note that the type of imported pistachio must be in accordance with the standards mentioned by the customs of the country of origin and destination. Pistachio cultivars for export

Exported pistachios have different cultivars, each of which is cultivated in different regions, these cultivars are somewhat different in appearance and price. The most important cultivars of Iranian pistachios can be mentioned as follows:

Fandoghi pistachio

This species of pistachio has a smaller size than other cultivars and is slightly smaller in size than Fandoghi. Fandoghi pistachio due to its small size and more per unit weight, is considered and has the highest export among its peers. This pistachio is available in sizes 26-28, 28-30, 30-32.

Ahmad Aghaei Pistachio

This type of pistachio is larger than Fandoghi pistachio and has the best taste among other pistachios, so it is a popular pistachio for export, which is widely consumed in East Asian countries. This pistachio is available in sizes 22-24, 24-26.

Akbari pistachio

This type of pistachio has more elongated seeds compared to Ahmad Aghaei species, which has made it more expensive, so that it has been named the most expensive pistachio for export in Iran. This pistachio is available in sizes 20-22, 22-24.

Kaleghochi Pistachio

This type of pistachio has a large and round size and has its own unique taste. This pistachio is available in sizes 18-20, 20-22, 22-24, 24-26.

Almond pistachios

This type of pistachio is similar to Ahmad Aghaei and its kernel is similar to almond. This pistachio is available in sizes 24-26, 26-28, 28-30.
