Almond, Argan Prunusdulcis, Synonym (Biology) Prunusamygdalus is specie of fruit, the tree of which is native to the Middle East and South Asia. Almond is not considered true beans, but it is a variety of shafts which have an outer shell and a hard inner covering in which the seed or the brain lies within it. The height of the almond tree is 4 to 10 meters and its diameter can reach more than 30 centimeters. The amount of energy per 100 grams of almonds is 576 kilocalories. The United States and Spain are the biggest producers of Almond in the world. Almonds are rich in protein, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and potassium which are beneficial for the body. There are two types of almonds in the world; sweet almonds and bitter almonds. The bitter almond brain contains a small amount of cyanide, a potassium carbonic acid, which if consumed by a person is poisoned.
