According to statistics provided by the Customs Organization, in the first eight months of this year, Iran’s dried fruit exports increased by 99 percent in terms of weight and 71 percent in terms of value.

So that in the first eight months of this year, we exported 133,680 tons of nuts worth 833,510,898 dollars, while in the same period last year, we exported 67,108 tons worth 485,958 $ 1,062 has been made from the country.

According to customs data in the first eight months of this year, 121,305 tons of pistachios worth 797 million 974 thousand 740 dollars and 109 thousand 669 tons of pistachios with skin worth 675 million 817 thousand 854

The dollar has been issued. Meanwhile, during the same period, 10,856 tons of pistachio kernels worth 118 million 131 thousand 865 dollars were exported from the country.

Customs data also show that during the mentioned period, 190 tons of almonds, 123 tons of hazelnuts, 530 tons of walnuts and 408 tons of peanuts were exported from Iran.

This is at a time when almond production in the world is still a growing trend and in the 2019-2020 crop year, the volume of almond production worldwide was about 1.36 million tons.

The United States produces about 51 percent of the world’s pistachios, and Iran, another producer of pistachios, accounts for 31 percent.

Pistachio, as one of the main items of nuts, has a special place in the world and according to global statistics, in the 2019-2020 crop year, the production of pistachios was about 655.2 thousand tons worldwide. The United States produces about 51 percent of the world’s pistachios, according to global statistics showing the share of world-renowned pistachio producers in the 2020-2020 crop year. Iran, as one of the other producers of pistachios, accounts for 31% of the production of this product. However, according to experts, the quality of Iranian pistachios is ranked first in the world.

The European Union is the largest importer of raisins in the world and has a 50% share in the import debate.

While raisins or dried grapes are an integral part of nuts and nuts, the production of this product has increased in the last decade around the world. According to global statistics, in the 2017-2018 crop year, the production of this product was 1, 218, 200 tons, which in 2019-2020 has increased to about 1, 335, 672 tons.

The interesting thing about raisins is that the European Union is the largest importer of this product in the world and has a 50% share in the import debate. According to global experts, dried grapes (raisins) are the most consumed dried fruit in the European market and account for 40% of total dried fruit imports.

It should be noted that about 70% of the total imports of dried grapes in Europe are mainly from developing countries. However, experts predict that the annual compound growth rate of the global raisin market from 2020 to 2025 will be 4.2 percent.

Dates are another dried fruit item, and the largest producers of dates in the world are located in Egypt, Iran, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Pakistan and Sudan. On the other hand, countries such as India, Morocco, France, Germany, Britain, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Russia are importers of this product.

Global experts predict that the annual compound growth rate of global date consumption will grow by 4.5 percent between 2020 and 2025. This is because the date trade is increasing in recent years due to increasing demand from all five continents of the world, and on the other hand, the establishment of fair trade associations and also the increase in demand for organic dates are among the factors that strengthen the market.

Interestingly, Africa accounts for 70% of world date consumption! And date fruit is of special importance in the Islamic countries of this region because it is rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins. While in this region, dates are traditionally served at the Iftar tables of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to global statistics, Iraq is the largest exporter of dates in the world in terms of quantity, and Tunisia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are the other major exporters of dates.
